Sage Healthcare
General Assembly Project
BACKGROUND
I am excited by the opportunities that new technologies bring, especially to industries like that in medicine, where increasing costs and decreasing budgets are raising the pressure to change.
Software is one of the most powerful drivers of change. Machine learning and visualisation, like DeepMind’s auto-segmentation tool, which identifies tumours in image data, faster and more reliably than humans. Personalised healthcare over the phone, bringing AI doctors trained by experts in London to those living in remote parts of the world with access to 4G but not GPs. Software is providing more people with more access to cheaper, better, and faster healthcare.
Sage Healthcare is my own answer to this: a patient doctor consultation app built in Ruby, Node, Express, MySQL as part of General Assembly’s 12 week coding bootcamp.
